Join us for a special two-night celebration honoring legendary jazz pianist Ahmad Jamal during his Birthday Month!



Leading the tribute is internationally acclaimed pianist and composer Yoko Miwa, one of the most compelling voices in jazz today. A three-time DownBeat Critics Poll Rising Star Pianist, Miwa is celebrated for her powerful technique, lyrical sensitivity, and electrifying trio performances. Her 2021 release Songs of Joy reached #1 on national jazz radio charts and was named one of the year’s best jazz albums by DownBeat. A Yamaha Artist and Berklee College of Music professor, Miwa has performed at renowned venues including Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Blue Note, and Birdland, and has shared the stage with artists such as Arturo Sandoval, Esperanza Spalding, and Terri Lyne Carrington.

Emerging in the 1950s, Jamal developed a distinctive minimalist style that profoundly influenced generations of musicians, including Miles Davis, who frequently cited him as a major inspiration. His landmark 1958 live album At the Pershing: But Not for Me became a breakout success, featuring the iconic rendition of “Poinciana.” Other notable recordings include The Awakening, Live at the Montreal Jazz Festival 1985, and Blue Moon. Over a career spanning more than seven decades, Jamal remained a pioneering force whose elegance and innovation helped shape modern jazz piano.
